If you own or operate a quality sober living home in Southern California, you are eligible for membership in a local Sober Living Coalition. See below for the counties where they currently operate. Membership identifies your houses as being safe, clean, well-managed and ethical. Members also share in the decades of collective experience of some of the best sober living providers today. They have the means to stay current with best practices nationwide. They're informed about legal and regulatory events affecting their operations, and the lives of the recovering individuals they serve.
The documents in this section provide all the information you need to begin the application process. The first set of documents is applicable to membership in any of the five Southern California County Sober Living Coalitions: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties.
Documents in the second section are specific to each county organization, and include membership requirements, their Code of Ethics and a membership application.
Each coalition requires that applicants COMPLETELY PREPARE their membership material FIRST - THEN CALL FOR INSPECTION APPOINTMENTS. This means that you print out and complete the APPLICATION PAGE, review and sign the CODE OF ETHICS and make copies of your GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE and your NETWORK TRAINING CERTFICATE. Also ensure that your house is fully prepared to meet the coalition's health, safety and management requirements, described in the material below.
If you currently operate a home in Ventura County, welcome!
Due to the recent level of interest, the Network is currently accepting applications from individual Ventura County providers. We've added a Ventura County page to our listings of quality sober living homes.
We're partnering with the Los Angeles County Sober Living Coalition to process your applications, conduct inspections and assist Ventura County providers in exploring the feasibility of creating a full-fledged coalition.
Please use the Los Angeles County information and application materials, and contact Jeff Christensen at the L.A. Field Office when you've completed the preparation and application process and are ready for an inspection.
You'll need Adobe Reader installed on your computer in order to read the documents available in this section. If you don't have it, you may download it (free) by clicking on the link below (Adobe's page will open in a new window):
